About the Opportunity:
Skylight Codeworks is seeking a talented Python/Django professional to join our technical team. The selected candidate will be responsible for building high-performance backend systems and delivering secure, scalable solutions using Django and DRF. Experience with cloud platforms and automated deployments is highly preferred.
Your Role & Responsibilities:
- Architect, code, and enhance backend applications using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework
- Build and maintain API-driven services for product features and integrations
- Work collaboratively with UI/UX, DevOps, and engineering teams throughout the development cycle
- Continuously improve system speed, stability, and performance
- Conduct testing, debugging, and code optimization to ensure quality
- Set up and support automated CI/CD workflows for seamless releases
- Handle deployment, monitoring, and maintenance on AWS environments
Skills & Qualifications:
- 3+ years of industry experience in backend development with Python + Django
- Advanced command over DRF for API development
- Hands-on expertise with SQL databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL)
- Knowledge of continuous delivery and automation tools (GitHub Actions / GitLab CI / Jenkins)
- Practical exposure to AWS solutions like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda (plus point)
- Strong Git workflow usage and version control understanding
- Passion for writing clean, reusable, and scalable code
- Solid analytical thinking and strong communication skills
Bonus Skills:
- Working knowledge of Docker or other container ecosystems
- Experience with Celery + Redis for asynchronous processing
